Built for Real Competition.

The league is structured around competitive baseball, not casual participation. Players are expected to know the game, show up prepared and understand that standings can come down to more than wins and losses.

MLB Rules

League play follows MLB rules with a limited number of adult-league exceptions for participation and competitive play.

Wood Bat

Wood bats only - Maple, Birch, Ash & Bamboo. Wood (barrel) composite bats are also allowed.

Umpires

Every game is officiated by at least two qualified umpires - which are independent of our league.

Every Run Counts

Wins, losses, head-to-head, runs allowed and runs scored can affect standings and postseason positioning.

Can You Help Us Win?

01

Pitchers / PO

Priority Need
Experienced arms are always valuable. Part-time and pitcher-only (PO) options are available for players who want innings without committing to the full regular-season schedule.
02

College Experience

Strong Fit
Former college players relocating to Huntsville or North Alabama are exactly the kind of players we want to hear from.
03

Position Players

Always Considered
Experienced players who can contribute defensively, compete at the plate and improve the roster are encouraged to reach out.

Season schedule

What the
Season Looks Like.

The schedule is predictable enough to plan around, but players should expect a meaningful in-season commitment, especially when rainouts create makeup games. Full-time players are expected to make the majority of games. We ask that you be realistic about your availability when joining the roster so we can plan.
April

Preseason Practice

The Huntsville Cubs typically practice every Sunday beginning in April. Players are expected to attend as many as possible. Pitchers are expected to ramp up accordingly. We also schedule D-Bat (Rocket City) batting practice sessions prior to and throughout the season.
May

Opening Day

The regular season starts the Sunday before Memorial Day weekend. No games on Memorial Day, Father's Day, Fourth of July weekend. These are perfect times to plan your vacations or getaways and recover a little.
June + July

Regular Season

Expect 2 games per week. Rainouts can cause a third game, especially later in the season when we're working toward starting the tournament. Sunday games are typically 2:30 PM or 6:00 PM, with one weekday game usually Wednesday or Thursday at 6:30 PM.
Rainouts

Flexible Makeups

Rainout makeups can shift to any day of the week (later in season), but can be held to Friday/Saturday as these are our typical makeup slots.
August

Postseason

The double-elimination tournament typically begins early August and wraps by mid-to-late August depending on rainouts and level of success.

Adult baseball questions

What Players
Want to Know.

You must be 25+, or turn 25 during the same calendar year as the season.
No, but the league is competitive. Strong high-school, college and experienced adult-league players are all relevant.
Yes. Pitcher-only and part-time players can participate in 8 regular-season games plus playoffs.
Typically 2–3 games per week depending on rainout makeups, with Sunday games and one weekday game as the standard schedule.
Each player is responsible for their own uniform and equipment. We will place a jersey order on your behalf at the beginning of the season. You will be responsible for pants, socks, belt, hat, and any other personal wear that you require. Every player should have at least one wood bat and personal batting helmet. There are few things worse than wearing another man's helmet after one AB in July. There are no metal cleats allowed on any of the turf fields. It is highly recommended that you wear turf/tennis shoes. On traditional fields, plastic/TPU, molded, or spikes are recommended.

We currently have two sets of uniforms: Royal/Grey and Powder/White combinations. Players have free will on belt, socks, and accessories styles/colors.
